So this thing about foetuses being full human beings with full human rights from conception.
What do you think should be done with the thousands upon thousands of fertilised eggs and embryos sitting in cold storage in IVF laboratories around the world, that the parents no longer want or need? Should they be discarded? If so, isn’t that murder? Should they be forcibly implanted into the women who supplied the eggs? If not, why not? If the woman hasn’t had them implanted because her history of miscarriage has made her give up on IVF, should she be forced to attempt to carry them anyway?
What do you want done with them?
And yes, I know you disapprove of IVF. That doesn’t change the fact that many hundreds of thousands of these full human beings now exist, but have no independent life outside the womb.
It’s a real question, actually. This is one of the thorniest questions surrounding IVF. I’d be interested to hear any thoughts.
